BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese leader Hu Jintao delivered a report on Thursday at the opening of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The following are key quotes from his report:

On socialism with Chinese characteristics

中國特色社會主義

-- We must unswervingly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

胡錦濤同志在十八大報告中強調，堅定不移走中國特色社會主義道路，奪取中國特色社會主義新勝利。

-- Our overall approach is to promote economic, political, cultural, social, and ecological progress, and our general task is to achieve socialist modernization and the great renewal of the Chinese nation.

建設中國特色社會主義，總依據是社會主義初級階段，總布局是五位一體，總任務是實現社會主義現代化和中華民族偉大復興。
