751 倒裝——否定性副詞位于句首時
① 下列三類否定詞位于句首時要倒裝。
（1）否定副詞：
never（從不），hardly（=scarcely幾乎不），seldom（很少），little（幾乎不），rarely（很少）
（2）否定副詞短語：
by no means（絕對不），in no way（絕對不），under no circumstances（在任何情況下都不）
（3）否定副詞從句：
not until he came（直到他來），only when he came（只到他來的時候），only after he came（只到他來之后）
② 正確的倒裝結構
（1）主語+be動詞→be動詞+主語
He is never interested in sports.
Never he is interested in sports.
Never is he interested in sports.
他對體育運動從不感興趣。
（2）主語+情態動詞或will，shall等→情態動詞或will，shall等+主語
He can by no means handle it.
By no means he can handle it.
By no means can he handle it.
他絕無能力處理那件事。
（3）主語+動詞→do/does/did+主語+動詞原形
只有把工作做完后我才離開。
Only after I finished my work I left.
Only after I finished my work did I leave.
提示
①not only…but also（不僅……而且）連接兩個對等的從句時，not only后用倒裝，但but also后的句子不倒裝，also應置于句中或省略，或不用also，而在句尾加as well。
她不僅會唱歌而且還會跳舞。
Not only she can sing，but also she can dance.
Not only can she sing，but she can（also）dance.
②not同neither，nor連用。
He can't sing，nor I can.
He can't sing，nor can I.
他不會唱歌，我也不會。
=He can't sing，and neither can I.
③no sooner…than（一……就……）結構要倒裝。
No sooner I had left than he came.
I had no sooner left than he came.
No sooner had I left than he came.
